Something I believe you missed is the constant references to America as a nation. Not only are there several American flags on display throughout the film, such as in the office of the man who owns the hotel and the room occupied by the radio worker, many characters throughout wear red, white and blue colours. Of course, there are also constant references to the grisly past of the native settlers and the final frame that shows the photograph depicts a party on July the Fourth, independence day, a day of celebration for everything american. Great video anyway - there's so much to analyse in this film, ther video would have to be hundreds of hours long to cram in every motif or piece of symbolism throughout.

Might be nice if someone uploaded the other language versions of this scene too. Matthew Lillard was so awesome in this movie. I wish he had more roles where he got to be completely unhinged.

There's one big difference between book and movie, which takes away from the scariness: in Kubrick's version, Jack was crazy right from the start, whereas in King's novel, the evil influence of the hotel tips an unstable (but not yet crazy) man over the edge.
